I was born and raised in Omaha, NE and graduated from Creighton University in 2008. After working as a research assistant, I decided to go into academia and attended Stony Brook University where I received my Ph.D. from the Dept. of Political Science in August of 2014. My teaching and research interests are in American Politics (broadly speaking) with an emphasis on the United States Supreme Court and Constitutional Law. I also do research in the field of American Indian Politics with my former teacher/boss/mentor and now friend/co-author Richard Witmer. I also have a teaching and research interest in Quantitative Methodology and am drawn to any project that allows me to explore interesting questions with friends and co-authors using different statistical methods.
In my free time, I am usually either reading or playing sports (tennis in nice weather, basketball during "indoor weather").
